Chamomile has been used in herbalism for thousands of years to ease tension and support digestion. Though most people associate Chamomile with its relaxation effects, in traditional Chinese medicine, it’s used to move the qi and treat stagnation or stuck energy.
It is believed that the mental and physical stress-reducing effect of this daisy-like plant may be due to nutrients known as flavonoids. It’s also frequently used in topical preparations to soothe irritated skin.
